Baltic Highway

The Baltic Highway is a seamless data transmission network using the infrastructure of a single manufacturer rather than being made up of different segments and technologies.

The Baltic Highway data transmission backbone network running through Vilnius connects the Northern Europe with one of the world’s largest data centers in Frankfurt via Tallinn, Riga, Warsaw and Berlin. This highway ensures fast transmission of large amounts of data from the North to the West and vice versa. The project allows us to offer data transmission services in Lithuania and other Baltic states as well as Poland and Germany.

Advantages of the Baltic Highway data network:

  • High level of reliability;
  • Low RTD, only 35 milliseconds;
  • Ultra-high data transfer rate (100G);
  • Total throughput: 9.6 Tbit/s.

    Effectiveness

    The Baltic Highway transmits data by optical fiber installed on infrastructure managed by energy companies, i.e. high-voltage power lines and gas pipelines. The use of the latest wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) technology ensured a 20-fold increase in the fiber-optic performance.

    Network maintenance is provided on a one-stop-shop basis which ensures high service effectiveness and efficiency in addressing any issues that may arise.

    Reliability

    Reliability and uninterrupted operation of the Baltic Highway are ensured by:

    • Redundant network management and power supply systems;
    • Automated signal and power control;
    • Service teams with spare parts on hand on duty in each country of the highway.
